2013 Gemtree Wines Ernest Allan Shiraz

In episode 113, we tasted a superb SA Drink Of The Week, courtey of Gemtree Wines at McLaren Vale.

Gemtree has a close association with Conservation SA due to the environmentally-friendly practices they use in grape growing and wine production.

And the wine?

Stunning.

Under the spotlight this week was a new wine in the Gemtree stable: The Ernest Allan Shiraz.

It had Steve blabbering like a kid in a lolly shop, even to the extent of tasting banana amid the rich red fruit on his palate.

Nigel was particularly struck by the body and mouthfeel and Leigh noted the deep, almost black colour of the wine in the glass.

As Craig praised Gemtree for their responsible practices, the bottle drained a little faster than usual and the winery was lauded as a shining light for others to follow.
