Fleur De La Lune Barossa Grenache tasting notes

Fleur De La Lune Barossa Grenache tasting notes for The Adelaide Show Podcast

These Fleur De La Lune Barossa Grenache tasting notes were produced as part of The Adelaide Show Podcast episode 186 (our pub Scrabble episode – hence the picture).

As it happens, Riley Harrison, the man behind Fleur De La Lune Barossa Grenache, is a friend of one of our guests on this week’s show, Adam Kretschmer, so it was only fitting we put one of his wines into the centre of the Scrabble board.

And just like looking through the official Scrabble Dictionary at words you didn’t know existed, so too this deceptively light looking wine delivers a number of surprises – the first of which was Riley’s choice of using cork  as the stopper, rather than a Stelvin.

Steve was first to mention the colour of this wine, describing it as bright, almost transparent red like badly made fake wine on a daytime soapie. It really does look like a glass of moderately weak Ribena.

He noted it was more of a dark Rose rather than a light red wine, at first glance.

But on the palate was where the surprises continued. You really have to listen to hear the discussion but one point worth noting is how Fiona Braendler, our other guest, declared that despite not being a red wine drinker, she found this very approachable and enjoyable.

Listen in, the wine tasting starts around the three-minute mark, either via the player below or by downloading our episode from within your favourite podcast player or on Stitcher, iTunes or Google Play.
