A doubly special treat this week in episode 67, not only did we toast Queen Adelaide with this superb wine but we began a partnership with the Arkaba Hotel which means you can now win the wine we taste.
But first, the tasting notes.
This Sangiovese from Coriole Vineyards is a very impressive wine AND the South Australian Drink Of The Week.
It pours into the glass, looking like strong raspberry cordial rather than wine.
The nose sneaks up on your senses with big, bold, bright aromas of everything a red should bring and, if anything, a symphony of aroma similar to a hearty, McLaren Vale Shiraz.
Then on the palate, this wine finds its balance and spreads itself out like a velvety picnic rug thrown across your tongue.
This wine is a little savoury and a little sweet, it has moderate tannins for a dry finish and, quite simply, is just a joy to drink.

Win a bottle of this wine
The Arkaba Hotel has partnered with us so that it can let our fellow wine lovers know you can safely order wine by the glass through their Enomatic System. So, instead of getting a tired glass of wine from a bottle that was opened days ago, which is a dreadful experience for serious wine drinkers, at the Arkaba they can guarantee freshness just like the winemaker intended.
This month in the Enomatic System they have a battle between Adelaide Hills whites and McLaren Vale reds.
As you’d expect, we’ve erred to the red side with this week’s tasting.
To be in the draw to win a bottle of the Coriole Sangiovese, you only have three things to do:
1. Mention the word Sangiovese, on our Facebook Page, or in a tweet to @boringadelaide, or just email us at [email protected] Pick whichever one works best for you.
2. Make sure you’re on our In Crowd mailing list. This little email gets sent every Friday morning with details about the week’s show. You can sign up here.
3. Do those things before 11.59pm tonight, Sunday, December 7, 2014, South Australian time of course, and on Monday we will email the winner with details of how they can collect their wine from The Arkaba.
We have more wine to give away through December, so stay close and we could be adding to your cellar!
