Coriole Vineyards 2013 Sangiovese McLaren Vale

A doubly special treat this week in episode 67, not only did we toast Queen Adelaide with this superb wine but we began a partnership with the Arkaba Hotel which means you can now win the wine we taste.

But first, the tasting notes.

This Sangiovese from Coriole Vineyards is a very impressive wine AND the South Australian Drink Of The Week.

It pours into the glass, looking like strong raspberry cordial rather than wine.

The nose sneaks up on your senses with big, bold, bright aromas of everything a red should bring and, if anything, a symphony of aroma similar to a hearty, McLaren Vale Shiraz.

Then on the palate, this wine finds its balance and spreads itself out like a velvety picnic rug thrown across your tongue.

This wine is a little savoury and a little sweet, it has moderate tannins for a dry finish and, quite simply, is just a joy to drink.
