Ashton Valley Crush Pear Juice tasting notes The Adelaide Show PodcastDuring recording of episode 138, we created these Ashton Valley Crush Pear Juice tasting notes because our guest, Glenn Gale, was not allowed to drink alcohol.

Because Glenn lives in the Adelaide Hills, we looked for a local beverage and found this excellent example of pear juice.

What attracted Steve to this juice was the cloudy character.

Nigel noted that Steve’s preference for cloudy juices is possibly due to some positive associations to cloudy juice when younger, just as some people might prefer clear juices for the same reason; the earliest cognitive science comment in an episode yet!

Glenn Gale instantly gave this his thumbs up.

Steve did also, noting how most of the flavour gathered at the back of the palate.

Nigel noted there is a momentary tartness, possibly from the skin, at first, and then the fruit flavour opens up on the mid and back palate.

Pleasingly, this is 100 per cent pear juice; you don’t often see that these days.

You can hear our live tasting about 6 minutes in.
