heaps-good-charlie Photo Steve DavisWhat do you give a South Australian not currently living in South Australia?

A subscription to our podcast, it seems.

We’ve had a wonderful email from Matthew Longmire in Tasmania, an ex-pat South Aussie who says he is enjoying our podcast because it gives him a slice of South Australia.

That got us wondering, what would you put in a South Australian Care Package?

In this week’s podcast, we give you nine ideas but now we want some from you, too.

If this takes off, we might well plan a Royal Adelaide Show Bag!

At the bottom of this page you can ADD your ideas for the care package immediately.

Plus we chat with Paul from Carnevale Coffee about this Sunday’s Double Shot! Unley Coffee Fiesta and Catherine Crowley from Sparrow Folk about their five star Fringe show that finishes Saturday AND the lament of living in a town labelled ‘boring’ (Canberra).

Wonderful wine from Unearthing Wine Lovers brought by our Nigel IV aka Charlie-Helen Robinson, and music from Mick Kidd.

Hope you can listen in, share our podcast and even leave a review in iTunes if that’s where you subscribe.

Show notes

Intro: Our original theme song is here, Adelaidee Hoo. Note, throughout the podcast we also use free sfx from freesfx.co.uk for the harp, the visa stamp, the silent movie music, the radio signal sfx, and the swooshes around Siri.

South Australian Drink Of The Week: Unearthing Kazzy’s Sparkly Raz, McLaren Vale Sparkling Shiraz. Tasting notes.

Shout outs: Steve sent cheerio to Vincent Brown – he got quite engrossed in our Adelaidia story last week and has unearthed some tunnel history under Adelaide – more in a future episode.

Stories without notice: Steve commented about the two talk stations topping the Adelaide Radio Ratings. Could this be a good omen for our podcast?

Interviews:
Paolo Scidone from Carnivale Coffee
re the Double Shot! Unley Coffee Fiesta this Sunday, March 16, 2014.

Catherine Crowley from Sparrow Folk – they are in town with a five-star Adelaide Fringe show called Nested Confessions. They are known for their YouTube smash hit, Ruin Your Day but we know them because they are Canberra-based and they almost got their Adelaide visas rejected when their manager tweeted:
Adelaide might be boring most of the time… But it’s about to be inundated with tits! (A reference to their pro-public breast feeding song).

Adelaide Visa Council: Before the Council this week:

  • Gwendolyn Vanessa ‏@Gwendolyn_xo No case to answer
  • JazzMarshall-Karauna @SuperCooper_x Visa Granted
  • Dee Montero ‏@BlackOwnedDebbi Visa Rejected
  • King of Aweil @KINGZIGZAG5STAR Visa Rejected
  • Tom Ingram ‏@IngramTom Visa Granted

However the Adelaide Visa Council noted that the FTA (Flight Training Adelaide) will need to be followed up to get to the bottom of the ‘boring Adelaide culture’.

Adelaide’s Yesterdays: In Colin’s absence, we did not run this segment tonight.

Brett’s Musical Pilgrimage: Mick Kidd and Too Many Women.
