Michael from Tenafeate Creek Wines entrusted Colin with a selection of new release wines and the first lived up to the standard we have come to expect from this One Tree Hill winery.

The Moscato was a classic version of that wine.

It gave off aromas of fruit pastels and on the palate it delivered, well, happiness really. Lovely, ripe, tropical and stone fruit notes dancing on a bed of gentle spritz.

Perfect wine to have on hand when daylight saving arrives because it seems made for a summer evening, just add sunsets.

The Grenache then forced us to change gears immediately.

This is a serious red, made from a single, low yielding vineyard at One Tree Hill and further respected by 18 months in French Oak.

Steve was instantly struck by memories of red licorice as this deep, red wine swept his palate.

Plenty of red fruit with a rounded, savoury finish, warmed by a 15.0% alcohol content.

As the Moscato is to summer, this Grenache is to winter.

Forget the heater, forget the doona, Tenafeate Creek Wines’ 2012 Grenache will warm you right down to your soul.
