Schild Estate 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley

We went off the beaten track in episode 51, sampling a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Barossa Valley, a region where Shiraz reigns supreme.

However, we did it in style, thanks to Caitlin Hillson from Feast On Foot leaving us a bottle of Schild Estate 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Unlike its counterparts from the Coonawarra, this Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was gentle on the palate.

Steve noticed the blackcurrant instantly and commented on the smooth tannins.

For Susan, this wine was a sentimental journey because Cabernet Sauvignon was the very first wine she ever drank. She was on board with this one from Schild Estate.

We think this wine is worth pulling on your boots for and trekking along the road less travelled to try this Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon.
