A long time supporter of our podcast, Ben Pike from Melbourne Street Fine Wine Cellars in North Adelaide, introduces us to this Pfitzner 2009 Chardonnay from the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills in episode 031.
This is the first white wine ever declared the South Australian Drink Of The Week, and for good reason.
In the picture, you can see Colin giving this rare white wine the royal treatment.
It is beautifully crafted, well balanced, savoury, and exudes stone fruit flavours with a hint of butterscotch.
Brett suggested not drinking this wine chilled but much closer to room temperature (perhaps taken out of the fridge early to let it warm up a little from the chill zone), so as to let the full bevvy of flavours encircle your palate.
But, better still, here is what Ben Pike told us himself.
