Henschke Keyneton Euphonium 2010

steve-davis-henschke-keyneton-euphoniumentIn episode 004, Steve drank at a 2010 Henschke Keyneton Euphonium up in Darwin while the boys drank a sly, Andrew Garrett Sparkling Shiraz in Adelaide.

However, the main chatter was about the Henschke.

Steve had previous met and interview Stephen and Pru Henscke when he worked at 5MU and was delighted at getting the whole bottle to himself. That is Steve, drinking Henschke in Darwin.

This wine extracted a confession from Steve: He has enjoyed this wine for years without ever reading the label and this time round it struck him as a Cabernet Sauvignon even though he had always pigeon holed it as a Shiraz.

Lo and behold, it is a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

It is an exquisite blend and sure to delight any fan of South Australia’s robustly crafted reds.
