In episode 83, the team tried the Crabtree 2014 Hilltop Vineyard Riesling, which was the South Australian Drink Of The Week.
The first thing that struck us was the satisfying complexity of the wine.
None of us are natively white wine drinkers but we were drawn to the intense and floral palate.
The full-bodied colour of the wine was also striking, not pale white and not deeply golden, but somewhere in between which played a role in drawing us towards this drop.
Riesling would have to be one of Clare Valley’s ultimate strengths with its elevation and climate and this is a perfect example thereof.
