2015 Barossa Valley Shiraz The Bishop tasting notes

The Bishop tasting notes - The Adelaide Show Podcast

Way back in 2013, we had The Bishop by Ben Glaetzer as the South Australian Drink Of The Week. It was the 2010 vintage and this week for episode 194 of The Adelaide Show, we had the 2015, courtesy of our guest, Mark Aiston.

There were fond memories for Steve of the 2013 tasting because he did that show via Skype while in Darwin, which meant he got the bishop to himself. It was a match made in heaven!

This eternally-reliable, Barossa Valley Shiraz, is exactly what nervous wine buyers should buy for: it is well priced and it always answers your prayers.

Steve noted that as he took the bishop in his mouth and swirled around, he got a heady mix of spice and cedar.

He said the cedar reminded him of church pews, while the fragrant spices were like ecclesiastical incense.

Nigel agreed, saying, The BIshop could be described as licking the inside of a church.

Mark just noted how much he enjoys this. He now buys it often.
