The first thing that struck our palates was how dominant the fruit characters were.

Steve noted that Adelaide Hills Shiraz is typically more reserved in the fruit stakes, possibly due to the cooler clime of the Adelaide Hills.

No matter how it was achieved, the results of the Sidewood Estate winemakers’ efforts is a balanced, mouth filling wine that would be just as happy being consumed on its own as it would be accompanying a stuffed eggplant.

And this applies whether you take Sarah and Cal’s approach of stuffing your eggplant with rice and spices, or Nigel’s approach of using seasoned mince.
