I first met Florence when I was playing with my duo at a Bridal Fair at Carclew House in North Adelaide. She was part of a four girl vocal ensemble called L’Amour who were alternating sets with us. As we were working side by side for the day, the conversation turned to their other musical directions and Florence mentioned she did some original work, so I told her about the podcast. Months later, she inboxed me about her new song, “Three Simple Words”, which is a bright and bubbly Ukelele love song.
Due to the style of the song, I thought it would sound really good stripped back to just the one instrument and so invited Florence to come in and play it live for us. I’m really glad I did – we not only got to meet Florence in person, but were treated to an honest and open expression of musical joy.
