Sandpaper Sally – PlanB – 021

plan bOriginally just having the music and one verse written by Peter Flierl, this is the only song I’ve really collaborated on lyrically with PlanB. To get yourself in the mindset of the lyrics, think of that BP truck stop on Grand Junction Road, just near South Road, where you can see the working girls hop from truck to truck of a night time (Or so I’m told).
At a shallow level it’s a conversation between a truckie and a whore. At a slightly deeper level it’s an observation of how easy it can be to forget that someone being paid for a service is actually a person deserving of your respect.
It’s also one of the most straight ahead rock songs the band does, and the live version has an extra verse. I think it’s a great little rocker!
