Ghost of Adelaide – Jimmy Meegan – 040

This song was particulaJimmy Meeganrly relevant for this episode of the podcast as it relates to the murder of Dr George Duncan in 1972, an event which eventually led to the decriminalisation of homosexuality in South Australia.

Musically it’s a great forceful acoustic song which manages to tell a factual story; no mean feat.

Jimmy Meegan is a singer and guitarist from Adelaide, South Australia. His love of music began at the tender age of 10 when he got the starring role in his primary school musical. Fast forward a few years and Jimmy found himself as the front man of local pop / rock outfit Jimmy & The Mirrors. Jimmy & The Mirrors have toured around the country, supported some of Australia’s “trendiest” bands and played the Parklife Music Festival. Jimmy Meegan recently recorded his debut solo EP entitled “Chains of Gold.” The EP was largely written overseas and then recorded back in Adelaide with the help from a large group of friends.
