Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz McLaren Vale

Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz McLaren Vale tasting notes from The Adelaide Show Podcast 222

The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz from McLaren Vale is the South Australian Drink Of The Week for episode 222 of The Adelaide Show Podcast.

The bottle was quite at home at the Theatre Costume Shop, where Juliet Sandison enjoyed the novelty of having wine on a Tuesday night.

It was also the perfect wine to cross celebration and theatricality (bubbles) with chicken costumes.

Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz tasting notes

This non vintage sparkling is very smooth, noted Juliet.

Steve likened this to the pillow of velvet that sits within a crown, under the golden framework.

The team then decided this is a velvety smooth sparkling, fit for a queen.

Juliet also noted cherries on her palate, lending a decadent note to the wine.

Nigel was taken by the fine, soft mousse.

Steve agreed, noting how clean his palate was after each mouthful, perhaps like the way OCD chickens might peck any spilled grain to leave the floors of their coops immaculately clean.

The Black Chook Sparkling Shiraz was a perfect accompaniment to the recording of the Adelaide Show 222, and you can hear our live tasting in the player below, or by downloading that episode by searching for The Adelaide Show in your favourite podcast app.
