For the SA Drink Of The Week, we tried a 2016 Shingleback Red Knot Shiraz from McLaren Vale.
We had it because while Steve was shopping for wine, a fellow customer recommended it as a great drop.
"This #wine goes down like an unopened parachute, in a good way," Steve's review of this #RedKnot #Shiraz from #McLarenVale https://t.co/PMZMBAHZNp

2016 Shingleback Red Knot Shiraz McLaren Vale tasting notes
The night before the podcast, Steve had opened a bottle of this Shiraz and decanted it two hours before drinking. It was a dry, medium bodied experience.
On the night of recording, the bottle was opened and drunk almost instantly and as a result was a little suboptimal. Our recommendation is to truly let this wine breathe.
It is a rather dry red wine, with subdued fruits, and would be well matched with most dishes.
Steve did describe is as going down like an unopened parachute, by which he meant (in a good way), that it slips across the palate without much fanfare and finishes crisply.
Nigel also noted it has cellaring potential of at least 10 years, meaning we probably opened it a little early.
