A few weeks ago, we met Amelia Veale as one of the other podcasters at the Adelaide Podcast Festival. Tonight, the host of Be The Drop, steps in to interview us. It is a show within a show.

As you’ll learn tonight, Be The Drop is a Bryce Courtenay saying from one of his characters who explained that even a mighty waterfall begins with a single drop.

The theme of our discussion was community.

Amelia is increasingly interested in the need to be human, to shift our focus towards a human economy. The human economy is one of connection and sharing, where people are recognised and given a sense of significance through valued contribution. All of these aspects build trust, respect and the foundation for mutually beneficial relationships.

 Nigel challenges the panel to pick the fake story from three stories from South Australia’s past.

QUEEN ADELAIDE SOCK CLUB.
The Queen Adelaide Sock Club Has received up to December 11, 113 pairs of socks and other gifts. These have been posted to the Commissioner for the Australian Comforts Fund for distribution. The Commissioner has cabled from England requesting that the supply of socks should be continued as usual.

BAG OF MONEY LOST AT TIME OF A COLLISION
Whispers of a daylight robbery having been committed were heard among a crowd which collected at the corner of King William and Currie streets on Thursday morning. It was stated that a lad had been waylaid and a bag of. money stolen from him. Enquiries, however, elicited the information that no robbery had been committed at all. At about 10.40 a.m. John Lendon, a messenger employed at the Queen Adelaide Club, in Stephens-place, and living at Torrensville, was crossing the road, when he was knocked down by the mudguard of a motor car, driven by Mr. H. Smith, grazier of St. Bernard’s-road, Magill. The lad, who received a slight cut on the left, wrist, declined to go to the
hospital, but he was taken to a chemist's shop nearby by Mr. Smith, Here his injury was attended to. At the time of the accident, Lendon was carrying a bag containing £44 17/, belonging to the Queen Adelaide Club, and he lost the bag when he was struck by the motor. Fortunately it did not get into the possession of a dishonest person, for it was picked up by Mr. William H. Keightly, a commission agent, of Kither’s Buildings, who took it into the Bank of Adelaide. Constable. Keane took possession of the money, none of which was missing.

QUEEN ADELAIDE LOADING 700 TONS
After taking on 400 tons of seed potatoes at Port Adelaide, the M.V. Queen Adelaide, owned by Dunloy and Sons, of Dublin, arrived at Port MacDonald last Thursday to top up with a further 3,000 tons, all for Ireland to help with replenishment after the disastrous potato blight.
