Adelaide – City of coffee could easily be a new name for our town, or at least one we aspire to.
And one of the cafes that really seized on the zeitgeist in our transition to ‘proper’ coffee culture is Bar 9 on Glen Osmond Road.
The man behind Bar 9, Ian Callahan joins us tonight to extract his take on espresso and discard the grounds of ‘wannabe’ baristas who give you more attitude than essence.
In our discussion we cover:
- The history of Bar 9
- Whether cafes and baristas should be licenced
- How to make coffee at home
- Bar 9 Outreach cafe in Whitmore Square
- Running a small business
- Adelaide as a great city to live in
- Coffee machine maintenance
- Full milk vs skim milk
