I don’t know how it happened, but somewhere along my wine appreciation journey I formed the opinion that Pepperjack was a dressed up cask wine.
Well, in episode 038, we drank the 2012 Shiraz and it was superb.
There was a very refined array of fruit resting on a broad and generous foundation of tannins.
Possibly, this is a little dryer than many Barossa shiraz, so it will go nicely with cheese, roast meats and roast mushroom dishes for our vegetarian friends.
This wine is a true, Barossan thoroughbred and certainly worth enjoying while this vintage is around.
