Forktree Brewing Southern Sunrise Ale tasting notes

207 forktree brewing southern sunrise ale on the adelaide show podcast

In recording episode 207 of The Adelaide Show podcast, we met Ben Hatcher from Forktree Brewing who introduced us to his Southern Sunrise Ale.

This ale is part of their first public batch, available for sale in various bottle shops around Yankalilla and Carickalinga.

Ben was an audio engineer in a former life, and ran a critical ear over the podcast’s sound capturing technology, ultimately giving the team a thumbs up!

Forktree Brewing Southern Sunrise Ale tasting notes

Steve’s first note for the Southern Sunrise Ale was that it was like going for an early morning dip at the beach in Carickalinga: it delivers a bracing bolt of experience at it first hits the palate but then the tide pulls out quickly, drying you as it leaves, such that you don’t need to dry yourself off with a towel.

Ben approved this and said it does capture the experience.

Nigel enjoyed that fact that unlike many craft brewery beers, this one is not overpowering, but rather it is crisp and cleansing.

Sophie from Wakefield Grange Butchery and Grocer does not drink beer, so she abstained. However, she was the connector who introduced us to Ben, ultimately enabling Forktree Brewing Southern Sunrise Ale to be the South Australian Drink Of The Week.
