00:12:04 | Gretel Killeen and Glynn Nicholas |
What better way could there be to bring in 2019 than to have two of the sharpest and most compassionate entertainers in Australia today – Gretel Killeen and Glynn Nicholas. More information here: https://glynnnicholas.com/ustwo/ Tickets via Eventbrite here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/gretel-killeen-glynn-nicholas-in-ustwo-tickets-51644001599 And tickets via Holden Street Theatres here: http://www.holdenstreettheatres.com/index.php/What-s-On/ustwo We have you together because in just a few sleeps, you’ll be on stage together at the Holden Street Theatres in your collaborative show, #UsTwo. The publicity has mentioned that this is only happening because Glynn just wouldn’t stop pestering you, Gretel. Is this true? Have your careers ever crossed paths? The show is dubbed – the hilarious his and her versions of our lives. I’d like to put you both on the spot now. Can you think of a moment in your lives, which would have been vastly different if you were the other person? Why? Gretel, in a recent article you wrote about surveys showing that many of us are suffering from loneliness, you had the line: my last boyfriend who I went out with to avoid loneliness, … turned out to be a right dickwit who made me feel lonelier. Your frankness caught me offguard because society teaches us to keep layers over our private lives and now social media and instagram teaches us to STAGE MANAGE the public view of our lives. How do you decide where the public/private boundaries lie for you? Glynn, I read somewhere recently, it might have been one of Gretel’s articles, that many people involved in the arts make a frugal financial living but their lives are rich with friends, laughter, connection, community and purpose. I know you’ve been back and forth along that spectrum from wealth to frugality; if you had to choose one end, which would it be, and why? What have been the most memorable New Years Eves in your lives? Do you have any rituals or planning process around New Year? #UsTwo – what’s in store? How can audiences best prepare for this show – are there any trigger warnings? |
