So Sir Richard Branson has become a South Australian winemaker?
Well, sort of.
Virgin Wines has commissioned The Black Pig shiraz from McLaren Vale to sell to its wine club members.
We tried The Black Pig in episode 40 and Colin described it as a ‘squealer’.
It certainly is a wine that grabs your attention.
First it hits you with fruit and then follows up with a bracing dousing of tannin.
This is an interesting wine and certainly not one that is typical of McLaren Vale shiraz.
All of us agreed that this lives up to the Virgin Wines slogan:
Life’s too short for boring wine.
Now, we such a statement and such a ‘stall’ of products, we’re just waiting for the sponsorship arrangement, but only if they concentrate on South Australian wines 🙂
