Most of the Shambolics song are carousing, tub thumping, singalongs; they do that style very well. I love to highlight when bands step out of their comfort zone and so I’ve brought in a slower one of theirs tonight, for episode 42.
When I asked Jimmy from the Shambolics about the song, he said “the song is written by Alan and it’s about an unrequited love affair that was difficult to get over..shows the soft side of the shambos…in NZ it’s Only Ewes”
…which kind of shows that even when they’re being soft and sentimental, they can still poke a bit of fun.
